Lego Robotics: 3rd-5th Grade
Lego Robotics by Brain Bytes Academy
Ages: 3rd-5th Grade | Beginner&Intermediate
In this hands-on robotics class, students design, build, and program their own LEGO Battle Bots while learning core robotics concepts like motors, movement, and sensor-based decision making. With step-by-step instruction, students start with a driving robot, then add sensors to help it react to obstacles and refine performance through guided challenges.
Projects include building a Battle Bot base, programming obstacle avoidance, and competing in structured, non-destructive arena challenges focused on strategy and problem-solving—not combat.
For kids who have completed previous classes, the subsequent sessions will build on their skills and they can advance through levels.
Skills Gained
- Robotics fundamentals (motors, movement, structure)
- Beginner/ Intermediate coding and sequencing
- Sensors + if/then logic
- Higher-level problem-solving and iteration
- Teamwork and collaboration
Six week session: 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26, 6/2. Make-up on 6/9 for any kids that have missed 1+ classes.
